20th March 2026

This Sunday is the fourth in the Lenten series of significant encounters in John's Gospel, the climax being where Jesus raises his friend Lazarus from the dead. Under the 'Extra' resources, I have a meditation for two voices on the statement of Jesus to Martha: "I am the Resurrection and the Life."

17th March 2026

Resources for the 3rd Sunday of Easter posted today.  The Gospel reading for this Sunday (5 weeks ahead) is the story of the two disciples walking to Emmaus on Easter Day.  I have written a poem/reflection that can be read by one, two or three voices.

12th March 2026

This coming Sunday, 15th March, as well as being Mothering Sunday, has the story of the man blind from birth as the gospel reading.  The 'Extra' section has hymn words based on this story and using the tune and format from a hymn in 'Hymns and Psalms'. I have amended the file so that there is an instruction to put the stress on the second word in the 4th verse...  otherwise that line doesn't fit in...

9th March 2026

Resources posted for the Sunday after Easter - known as the Second Sunday of Easter in the Lectionary.  There is another imagined monologue for this Sunday, this time from the mother of Thomas.

2nd March 2026

Resources posted for Easter Day including a monologue from Mary Magdalene's sister (well, she may have had one!) and a simple analysis of the different early resurrection accounts.

27th February

This coming Sunday (2nd Sunday in Lent) introduces us to the first of four significant Lenten encounters in John's gospel as Jesus engages in conversation with the Pharisee Nicodemus. In the 'Extra' section of this website, there is a suggested monologue from Nicodemus. Also - added today - is an introduction, and overview, to John's gospel as a whole.

23rd February

Resources for 29th March include a hymn for Palm Sunday and a monologue (intended for reading/performing as a child by an adult) - all posted.

16th February

Resources for 22nd March have been posted, as has a Worship Sheet for Ash Wednesday, this week, 18th February.

15th February

Today is the Sunday before Lent and the 'Extra' resource for today is a suggested Ignatian meditation on the story of the Transfiguration.

A Worship Sheet for Ash Wednesday has been posted in the 'Worship' section of this website.

9th February 2026

March 15th, the fourth Sunday in Lent, has been posted today.  The 'Extra' resource is a hymn based on the gospel story in John chapter 9.

2nd February 2026

Resources for the first three Sundays in Lent have now been posted.  The latest are those for 8th March. This sounds a long way ahead ! but Lent begins on 18th February.  A Worship Sheet for Ash Wednesday is in the offing.

30th January 2026

As the Gospel reading for this coming Sunday begins the first block of teaching in Matthew (the 'Sermon on the Mount') a simple introduction to Matthew's Gospel has been posted under the 'Gospel Intros' heading, along with a suggested outline for understanding Matthew's organisation and structure. Under the same link, there is a hymn (set to the tune 'Regent Square') about Matthew's Gospel.

27th January 2026

1st March is complete and posted. In the Extra section is a monologue with Nicodemus speaking that can be read/performed/adapted or used as a starter ten by someone writing their own.

22nd January 2026

All resources for 15th and 22nd February now posted as the aim is reached of keeping one month ahead.  The 'Extra' resource for the Sunday before Lent is a suggested Ignatian meditation on the Transfiguration story, and the 'Extra' for the First Sunday in Lent is an attempt to give different ways of exploring the meaning of the three temptations in the wilderness.

16th January 2026

Resources for 8th February have now been posted including extra extras (!) - an additional reflection on Matthew 5 v 13 - 16 used originally in Central Norfolk in 2023, an explanation to help understand Matthew 5 v 17 - 20 and a repeat of the hymn for 1st February (based on the Beatitudes).

10th January 2026

A technical difficulty has meant that the items listed in the last post did not take effect.  However, all sorted now!  In addition, all resources have now been posted for 1st February including a Hymn based on the Beatitudes.

5th January 2026

The Worship Sheet for 25th January has now been posted in the 'Worship' section.  The Hymn for the 25th (also used for the 18th) has been revised and improved and there is now a monologue for this week as an additional resource.
